Code and Ciphers have a related history, and many people think that they are the same thing. However, both "spy talks" are acutally really different from each other. While ciphers focus on changeing the leters/numbers around into different numbers/letters, codes just give certain names to things. For example, a helicpoter landing spot would be "The Big Apple".
There are many different types of ciphers such as the Cesar Shift and the Letter Shift. The Cesar Shift shifts letters up to different letters, so an A would become a C if you shifted it up two letters. Below is a table of the different Cesar Shift letters shifted up two spaces.

The Leter shift writes down all the letters of the alphabet and switches them to the opposite one. Below is a chart of what you would do.

An A would be an N and an N would be an A. You just switch the letters around to their opposite letter. If you are jsut starting writing in code, then you should probably print off these but if you are starting to get better, then you can make your own.
