Magical Kingdom Part 1

Part 1
The prophecy tells
Of two young children
To guide them each
A magical stone

Chapter 1

Room number 302 in apartment c was packed. If you tried to sit down somewhere, then you would find that your place had already been taken by a few of the large assortment of books the Pendrixes had. Having a family that loved books, the Pendrixes had already crammed all the books they could fit into their library, and had then started filling up all the other rooms with their books.
The only room in the Pendrixes’ house that didn’t have any books in it was their dad’s room. His name was Philip and he was an author himself. His room was cluttered with dozens of manuscripts and pieces of paper.
Many people thought that Philip was a messy person. He was, but saying that it was all because of all the manuscripts and books that he had written, Philip was often excused. Philip was just finishing up one of his books when he realized that he had to take some of his manuscripts to their backyard.
“Alex, can you take these boxes out back,” Philip shouted to his son.
“Sure dad,” Alex replied. “But can I play with Leon once I’m finished?”
“Of course you can’t,” Philip continued, his voice layered with sarcasm. “Just make sure that you don’t stay too long,” he added, smiling.
“Thanks,” Alex responded, as he headed out the door with the two boxes.
The Pendrix family was the only one in the apartments that had a backyard. They had bought the property permanently, and it was near their house that was being built so they could still keep it when they moved back in.
Though the Pendrixes had a backyard, it (like the rest of the house) was covered in books. It was a little risky, as robbers could easily steal some, but they had a security web and the police station was just around the corner. The police station was the 2nd best in the world so the Pendrixes took the risk.
Alex took a quick look around the yard before setting down the box and hopping on his bike to Leon’s house.
Arriving at Leon’s house shortly after he had left, (their houses were only a few miles apart,) Alex paused only momentarily to pick up what looked like a rock. Alex pocketed the rock and promptly rang the doorbell.
As Alex waited, he could hear a door opening and a soft pat as feet ran across the floor. Leon arrived and the two of them soon started talking, after Leon had invited Alex inside. Leon’s mom arrived and was happy to find that Alex was there. The two friends almost always met at each others house on the 2nd Friday of every month. After Leon’s mom walked away, Alex showed the rock to Leon. Alex could see a rare look of surprise on Leon’s face as he led Alex to his room.
“Alex, I found a rock that looks almost exactly like this just a while ago,” Leon explained. “I was looking over it in my room when suddenly it buzzed to life!”
“Do you know why it did that?” inquired Alex.
“I think that the rock came from nothing,” Leon answered. “Remember my theory that everything and anything can be made from nothing? This is when I think my theory I correct. When I held it I could shoot electricity from my hands and they were glowing. I thought it was amazing.”
So that means that if I hold the rock, I can shoot electricity from my hands?” Alex questioned.
“No,” Leon answered. “You will be able to shoot psychic from your hands. Mine was yellow which is the symbol for electricity. Yours is purple and white which is the color code for psychic.”
“Psychic?” asked Alex.
“It’s basically energy,” replied Leon. “The only difference is that psychic can be used for more things. So what are you waiting for, just hold the stone for a little bit and see what happens.”
“O.K.” Alex answered, though he seemed slightly wary.
Slowly grabbing it on, Alex could feel that energy was starting to build. Just like Leon said, Alex’s hands started glowing. Not knowing what to do, Alex tried to slowly release energy from his hands before he passed out, only to have a huge blast of it careen straight for the computer screen. Luckily, it simply disintegrated.
“The computer screen runs at a certain frequency so it disintegrates the power,” Leon explained. Alex collapsed on the floor.
“Are you pretty good at using your powers?” inquired Alex. “You seem to know a lot about what is happening.”
“I’m not actually that good at using my powers yet,” Leon admitted sheepishly. “But I am learning a lot about ‘the coming of magical stones.’ It’s a myth that talks all about what is supposed to happen with these stones. It’s actually pretty interesting and it pretty much summarizes all that I’ve learned about these stones. I’ll bring it up on my computer.”
Leon started flicking through numerous screens until he found the right one. Alex noted that Leon’s computer was very nice before looking at the screen.

The prophecy tells
Of two young children
To guide them each
A magical stone

But one of them
Will go to the other side
Leave the still good one
Standing alone

Though the outcome is unclear
The war is near
Though neither of them
Will be reduced to bones

“It obviously has some flaws,” Leon said after Alex had finished reading. “But all-in-all it summarizes what I’ve learned so far.”
“We can only hope that it has some flaws,” responded Alex. “Because I really hope that neither of us turn against the other.”
“Don’t worry. Various websites say different things,” Leon added. “That one was just the only what that had a prophecy on it. So do you want to stay over at my house for a little while so we can practice?” questioned Leon.
“Sure,” replied Alex. “I just need to make sure that I get home by three. I want to make dinner for my parents. They will be so surprised.”
“What are you going to make for them?” questioned Leon.
“I want to make catfish and sushi,” Alex answered. “I’ll probably throw in some crackers too though. I also might be able to make something else for them. It all just depends on how much money I’ve saved up for tonight.”
Alex and Leon stopped their conversation and started working. They still had to direct it at the computer so it wouldn’t blow up the house. Luckily, their powers were pretty accurate and they could easily hit it from the other side of the room. They were quickly able to release their power over whatever amount of time and over whatever force they wanted.
“Hey Alex,” Leon said panting heavily. Is it O.K. if you come over tomorrow? I’ve really learned a lot and I think that it will go faster if not only I have someone to talk to, but if just another person’s presence was here.”
“Sure, I probably can. I just need to make sure that it is O.K. with my dad,” Alex answered.
“Thanks,” Leon replied. I’ll make sure that if you aren’t over by two, that I’ll call you, just to make sure that you’ve asked your dad.”
“Oh, I’ll remember,” responded. “But you can call, just to be sure.”

Chapter 2

As Alex left the door, he took one look at Leon’s house, and wondered. He wondered if he should tell his mom or dad about the amazing powers that he had just been granted. After all, they were like his best friends, but he decided not to and thought that he didn’t want to worry them.
Alex arrived back at their house quickly, and was relieved to find that his dad was still in his room, hammering away at a new story, and that his mom had not yet returned from her school job. That meant that one of the teachers had taken the day off, and she would not be home until four, at the earliest.
Alex found a note on the table saying that he needed to check on Mrs. Carrel’s house sometime, just to make sure that she had gotten home safely. Alex threw the note in the trash after committing it to memory, and went to get some money so he could buy the things that he would need for his family’s dinner.
Alex quickly decided on what to buy, and decided that they didn’t have enough wasabi to go well with what he was making for dinner. He headed over to the sushi isle and bought some more wasabi. He just needed some crackers now, and he bought his parents favorite Master Grain crackers and tried some new ones too.
Alex had just finished checking out and was heading out the store when he saw a man in black that looked like a daytime robber. Quickly putting his groceries down, Alex headed over to the man in black and crouched behind his care. Wanting to be as surprising as possible, Alex blasted the pavement on the opposite side of where he was going to come and sprang around the other corner.
His diversion worked well, but not well enough. The man was able to dodge Alex’s super powered punch, and whirled around. The man was surprised when Alex blasted his psychic energy at him, but not surprised enough stop from cocking his gun, aiming, and firing.
“Hello Alex,” a voice startled Alex.
Alex rolled over and was surprised to find himself in something like a drone. The drone seemed to stretch on forever when he looked at the floor, but Alex you clearly see an oval shaped fence about 50 yards away from him.
“I said hello,” the voice repeated.
“Yes I know, but I’d like to observe the landscape before making any approach to talk to you,” Alex replied. “I still shouldn’t be talking, because, though I can see hiding places everywhere that you could be hiding, your voice seems to be coming from inside me,” stalled Alex, as he tried to find the person talking.
The voice laughed and gave a reply. “Yes Alex, my voice is coming from inside you because you see, I’m somewhat now part of you,” the voice answered.
“How you be part of me?” questioned Alex.
“Well I’m technically not part of you, I’m technically part of the stone that you found. I am basically the power inside the stone, but your Earth language has no reasonable meaning that I could describe it as, so I guess I will just have to use that,” the voice continued. “But now on with what I need to teach you, you must create a sword using your psychic power and defeat some stone guardians that I will make.”
“But I don’t know how to make a sword out of psychic,” complained Alex. “Let alone us…”
“I said you must create a sword using your psychic power and defeats some stone guardians that I will make. I don’t care if you don’t know how too, but you must learn sometime and there is no time like the present,” the voice boomed.
The voice was right, as soon, several stone guardians appeared out of the ground. Alex noted the markings on them, and resolved to using the only method of attacking that he knew, blasting them with energy.
Well Alex’s strategy didn’t work so well and didn’t hurt the stone guardians the least. In fact if anything, it seemed to make them stronger.
Alex quickly realized that this strategy wasn’t working, and headed for a crevice in the boulders to attempt to make a sword. Quickly, Alex figured out how to, but he still couldn’t make the sword make more than a flicker. Just as he was about to give up, Alex realized that he had to think about what it would do. Otherwise the sword would be incomplete.
After Alex had successfully made the sword, he jumped out of the crevice swinging away. Being pleased when he saw that when he swung the sword, a shockwave emitted from the end, Alex quickly reduced the guardians to a pile of rocks.
“Very good,” said the voice. “Now this one is a little harder. You must freeze time and create a rope with which you will tie up the stone guardians. You must then tie them up to that post by flying.”
Alex was ready to argue, but as the voice had demonstrated before, there was no point to it.
The stone guardians came up out of the ground, but Alex noted that they had different markings on them this time. Alex first blasted them away with his energy, just so that he had a little time to do what he needed. The rope came easy, but it was the stopping time that was a little hard.
Alex decided to work on flying first and quickly did that, but still couldn’t get the stopping time part. He blasted a lose rock into the air and flew up to it when it stopped on tip of a post. Because he just couldn’t get it, Alex decided to go to his hiding place where he made the sword.
Alex was immensely surprised when he looked down and realized that the stone guardians had stopped moving, he had actually stopped time before he blasted the pillar into the air. After realizing this, Alex quickly completed his job.
“Congratulations Alex,” the voice came. “I will now send you back to you corporeal being.”
Alex felt himself returning to his human conciseness and had just enough time to stop time before seeing the bullet, right in front of his face. Smiling, he swirled away from the bullet and tied up the robber to a pole near the store. Pleased with himself, Alex headed home.
Alex checked on Mrs. Carrel’s house before heading back into his family’s house and immediately headed to the kitchen.
When Alex got home, he made sure that his dad was in his room, and then headed into the kitchen. He had a lot to do and not much time to do it, but luckily, Alex was good at multi-tasking. He soon prepared the dinner and had finished setting the table just before his mom walked in.
His dad walked out of the study and greeted Alex’s mom, Chrystal
“I have a surprise planned for you two,” Alex informed his mom and dad.
Alex promptly led them into the kitchen and showed them the meal that he had prepared.
“Alex, thank you.”
