VEBA

Slowly, he reached a hand out but immediately pulled it back. He was going to perform an energy booster but then heard something that made him stop. Swiveling his head to the side Nargo activated a thermal control function in his suit that immediately stopped him noticing the cold. He then dove behind the nearest wall as a rocket exploded where he was standing.
Nargo quickly reloaded his functioning systems and raced to the next wall before destroying the previous one he had been at. Suddenly a figure dropped behind him. Nargo did a back flip and quickly started firing at his elusive pursuer. Quickly immobilizing him Nargo prepared for the final strike. Almost magically the figure disappeared but soon after Nargo struck out. His enemy was dead
Nargo didn’t admire his triumph for long though. Soon after his enemy had been terminated he received a light shock and snapped out of the magical arena. Nargo was one of the top VEBA contestants. VEBA stood for Very Exciting Battle Arena. Tournaments were held at the main dome every two weeks but this wasn’t one of them. The contestants were people that stepped into a room at the dome and immediately found themselves in a magical world with a special suit on them. The suit had many functions but varied upon the user by what his or her personality was and how much experience that person had.
Nargo was among the best in VEBA and was just one defeat away from obtaining a new high score in the most tournaments won. He was at the top of his game but if he lost now then he would definitely be at the bottom. Amazingly Nargo lived in space where all of the other famous VENA contestants were. They were the best of the best up there. The space suite even had its very own Yargo (those big giants that live in space and give the best tours of the stars.)
Nargo slowly walked out of the dome. He had just won a match from the second best person that had also formerly held the record. Normally Nargo would have invited him over for a pizza dinner but today Nargo wasn’t in a good mood. This was because a newbie had challenged him to a full scale battle. A full scale battle was a battle where a new person challenged someone who was very good at the sport. If the good person lost then they would get sent back to the very lowest ranks. In other words, everything would be taken away from them.
Quickly finishing his dinner Nargo headed to his own battle drone to practice by himself he had to be prepared for whatever the newbie threw at him. He first practiced with dodging. Namely he had 6000 fire balls hurled at him in three seconds enclosed in an area only twelve feet by twelve feet wide with lava at the bottom. He quickly completed that and did target practice before falling to sleep.
The next day Nargo was ready to face the newbie. The newbie’s name was Darin and didn’t look very imposing. Nargo studied him before greeting him and heading to the battle drones. He quickly selected his magics before choosing the lava field as the battlefield. Quickly they were in the lava fields and ready to fight.
As always, Nargo and Darin started at opposite ends. This gave them booth time to hide before the other one charged into battle. Nargo activated his jet pack and flew around the battlefield before he found Darin. Nargo snuck behind him and finished him off to his last hp’s. Once again Nargo prepared for the final strike when something completely unexpected happened.
Nargo suddenly snapped out of the trance that allowed him to see what was happening in the magical world and he immediately received a small shock volts of electricity. The shock ran through him but Nargo hardly noticed it. All he wanted to do right now was to make sure that the newbie didn’t win. Nargo snapped back into the trance only to immediately get defeated by Darin. The game was over.
Nargo was so surprised that he didn’t have time to say anything. Slowly he came to his senses and walked out of the battle drone. He started to hear a large round of applause and started to bow. However he stopped himself before he could complete his bow after realizing that the applause was not for him.
As soon as the battle drone gates were opened up Nargo stormed out of the arena. He headed straight to Yargo and immediately told Yargo about what had happened. Yargo understood Nargo completely. Trying to help, Yargo calmed Nargo. They started talking normally again but soon a security guard came in and directed Nargo to his ship. Nargo would need to head back down to earth except when a tournament was started.
Nargo didn’t have his own battle drone but headed to the local one immediately and started practicing like crazy. He trained so hard that he even fell asleep quickly when he got home. The days passed quickly however and Nargo was ready for the next tournament. Taking the space shuttle to the space base Nargo was immediately entered in the tournament.
Quickly, Nargo completed the necessary requirements for entering in the semi-finals and quickly made his way past those. After that just one battle remained in between him and his victory. The final battle between him and Darin. The two of them entered their battle drone and quickly selected their character and location before going into the trance.
Darin and Nargo booth put up a very good fight but right before what would be the last hit Darin started talking. He talked about how he was going to easily win and exactly what happened the day that Nargo was defeated. Suddenly booth of them were shocked with the one volt shock necessary to make sure that they booth were back to normal. A security guard rushed in and led booth of them out.
The security guard explained that Nargo had activated the vocal simulator that made their voices able to be heard by everyone watching them. Nargo was immediately able to resume his position and accept the record while Darin was put in jail. Yargo was also very happy.
